Eyjafjallajökull eruption still ongoing

Live webcam of the eruption here.

Flight restriction to English and Welsh airports pushed forward to 0600Z tomorrow. NATS will likely extend it even further at 1930Z.

The latest infographic from VAAC London is here, and the next one will be released at 1800Z.

You can see what the current flight activity over Europe is at RadarVirtuel.

The high pressure system that was northwest of the British isles is now moving toward the UK and in conjunction with the depression over mainland Europe, it will most likely—and this is a conjecture—push the volcanic ash toward mainland Europe tomorrow. The high pressure system will gradually dissipate by Sunday and the ash might spread again over the UK. (sources: [1], [2])

I predict Europe's screwed well into Monday, all depending on if the volcano continues to erupt and what the weather over Iceland will be like.

...last one to fly the A380 over the volcano is a rotten egg.

Though in all seriousness, all that Europe needs now is a low pressure system to move it out of the way entirely. Fortunately it's getting better.

Thought this made for some interesting philosophical musing on the subject...
