Updating A380 model for FSX

Post by macareno_ca » 30 Jun 2010, 20:46

Hello all !

Just downloaded the freshly posted PA A380 ( Emirates model ). It's great but since I fly in FSX, I tried it out and it works fine.

But 2 things can be adressed easily :

1 - Problem : missing thumbnail when it comes time to select the aircraft. A default graphic is presented instead. To correct, make a screen capture of the A380 and then

save in a file called thumbnail.jpg in the texture directory corresponding to the airline painting ( still in the A380 directory )

2 - Problem : no sounds. Solution : open the sound.cfg file in the sound directory of the A380 and make sure this line ( alias=b737_400\sound )

is corrected ( change de 4 for a 8 ). The 737-400 was replaced by the 737-800 model.

3 - Additionnal views of the aircraft are one of the new features in FSX but it seems complex to create. I don't know how anyway.

Hope this helps someone out there,

Thank you very much Alexis first for a quick response but also for the very good job you did on these new camera views. They are a great addition to flying any aircraft and you came through on this beautiful bird ! Thanks again ! Enjoying your work very much specially since I decided to try the use of the mouse just a couple of days ago.

Used it only in the virtual cockpit at first but tried it out with the outside cam views and it works great !

Have a nice day !

Steve made the wing views, not Alexis
