Hey everyone,
Firstly, happy new year. Air New Zealand is the launch customer for the new "Sharklets" or wingtips for our new A320 aircraft with the exception of ZK-OAB which is the All Blacks aircraft arriving this month. They're very economical for the A320 which is already very economical, but these WILL improve handling characteristics into smaller airfields such as NZQN or Queenstown in New Zealand which all you New Zealanders know.. its a short airfield even for an A320 or B737-300 or B737-800

Theres what they look like.
These are API ( Aviation Partners Inc ) sharklets.
Do you think PA should do an A320 with the sharklets to complete the PA A320 aircraft model itself?? or perhaps a simple patch for them??
I WOULD BE FOREVER GREATFUL IF PA DID THIS!!! AND IT WOULD BE ANOTHER FIRST FOR THEM TOO!!
What you think? Should they??
Let me know

Well, yes.
This is a frequently asked question to which the answer is either no or highly unlikely.
It is however an interesting request which will likely emerge in other freeware and payware companies...
But my vote goes to yes.

Re: Airbus A320 SHARKLETS...
GREAT! thats good that i have one other person besides myself. Yes you are right about the other payware and freeware companies doing that, but PA have THE best A320 out there at the moment that is not for SP2 or Acceleration. So i dont know why theyre being stubborn about doing it. Not only will it boost there aircraft downloads to probably twice as what it is now but it would be something unique and different to what is out in the field now. Because after NZ get the sharklets, and after people who play FS9/X will be requesting the sharklets and other airlines are behind us for them as well.
So lets hope they do them if we can get enough votes and what not.

We don't know what time will bring.
Once everything's considered, it's easy to see why we're not very eager to revisit the A320.
Airbus says they'll be produced by Korean Air Aerospace: http://www.airbus.com/presscentre/press ... sharklets/NikMcLeod wrote:http://www.airliners.net/photo/Airbus-I ... 22e36c92b6

We're not being stubborn; there are quite a few things to factor in... Are there any decent reference photos or diagrams of the sharklets to go by? If we add the sharklets, do we also add all the improvements we've made with the A319, A318 and A321? If so, do we update the wingtip fence models as well? Will there be interest to convert them all for FSX? Etc...NikMcLeod wrote: So i dont know why theyre being stubborn about doing it.

The number of downloads is not a drive for us.NikMcLeod wrote: Not only will it boost there aircraft downloads to probably twice as what it is now

PAirbus will (as usual) do as they see fit,esg wrote:We don't know what time will bring.
just enjoy what you have now.
they don't model so that when they have released the planes people take some flights then demand time consuming features.
but it is undoubtably an intriguing idea...

If we do decide to do it, we'll do our own research, but thanks.
Re: Airbus A320 SHARKLETS...
Just wait until the real thing is in use! That will take some years!
Wingflex would be nice but they have enough to do with the A321!So don't ask everytime the same things!Use the search feature! So let PA do what they want.
