i've got similar issues with sp1. i think it comes from the right click menu. it works great when i avoid it. it often crashes when i change view or go through menu before landing.
try to check that

Happens with the right click menus?

I'm assuming this also happens when you use the ALT menu to look at weather, graphics, payload while in-flight. I'm also assuming you use Windows 7.

The fix was a UIAutomationCore.dll file to be placed in the system32 folder, IIRC. To fix it, you use the system UIAutomationCore.dll file from Windows Vista and paste it over the original (there is a special method to doing this as they don't allow you to simply copy over it), I saw a thread on the flightsim forums, just give me a bit to find it...

EDIT:

Here it is—

Forum thread: http://forums.flightsim.com/vbfs/showth ... ion&page=2

I used to have a very similar problem, so I did the fix stated above and I haven't had a random crash using the right click menus since.

SORRY I did not get your pm fast enough because I was apparently logged out of the forums for a couple of days...

Yes you are to overwrite UIAutomationCore.dll with the one in the download, since I've replaced said file I've never had a problem since (just remember to back up the one originally there). I copied and pasted a few of the steps here:

3) Click on your start menu and type cmd in your search menu.
4) Now a command prompt should pop up. Type takeown /f C:\Windows\System32\UIautomation.dll
5) Next type cacls C:\Windows\System32\UIAutomationCore.dll /G YOUR_USERNAME:F - replace YOUR_USERNAME with your windows 7 username.
6) You can now copy the UIautomation.dll into your windows 7 folder.

I don't think you're supposed to see UIAnimation.dll as I assume it's hidden by default, just using cmd to take ownership of it should work anyhow.
