A380 2D cockpit

Post by havoc04 »

Hi guys.
I have the Wilco Airbus Vol 2, and since there is a 4 engined Airbus in the package, i thought id try to port the 2d cockpit in to PA A380..
Well it works a treat. Has Front/Overhead/Pedestal/FMC, and all the bells and whistles for a proper FMC flight.

If you have the Feelthere Airbus Vol2 give it a try :)
Doing a flight from KSEA to KSFO. Should be interesting on landing :)

Regards
Mike

Just tried the A380 with the Wilco A346 panel, it comes out quite well, the autopilot is functioning well, but still haven't test the alpha-floor and the bank limit yet.

I'd say that there MIGHT be SOME tweaking to do in order to make it work 100%
For instance i noticed when i deployed Spoilers in flight, they wouldnt come up all the way.
Also N1 was not showing 100% on takeoff more like 50% another thing that would need to be tweaked.

All in all its a successful port. And probely that BEST 2D Panel that i remotley close, although NOT entirely accurate :)
Overland A380 panel is well VERY basic
Wilco A380 panel is well.. Lets leave it there LOL
I wouldve liked to also import the VC as well but from what i read it really cant be done. So ill stick to the 2D till PA releases there VC :)

The spoiler is coded to deploy partially in the Wilco's panel, which has little chance to tweak I think. For the thrust stuff, at TO/GA, my N1 is showing 90.8%, which should be normal I think....
Also, it seems that copying the following parts in the aircraft.cfg of the A346 to the PA A380 make things a lot better
1. Flaps
2. Autopilot
3. Electrical

[Off topic a little bit, the PA A380's fuel config is a little bit different from what I read from smartcockpit, what do you think?]

Wll i copied over the
1. Flaps
2. Autopilot
3. Electrical

Also remed out the fuel area and placed the Wilco fuel in .. Going for a test now to see whats happens :)

Update: Alpha-floor and bank limit tested, functioning well, but the level off conducted by the autopilot is rather fierce, it should be able to get hundreds of passengers off the seat. Also the payload entered into to FMC will cause an overestimation of the aircraft's minimum speed, forcing myself to land the aircraft with a higher speed (I landed with 16x kts but the aircraft is capable of landing with 14x), if you approach too slowly the TO/GA Lock will be enabled, which requires you to disconnect the autothrottle immediately. Looks like we've got some problems to solve.......

Our fuel sections have the feed tanks merged into the main tanks for simplicity. You should be able to paste the Wilco fuel sections without causing too many problems.

Thx Derek, but the fuel loading is different on the A380 so I think I'll stick to the PA's fuel config.
Still I can't find a way to solve the quick landing speed problem, anyone got a solution?

The alpha floor is probably coded into the panel gauges. I don't think it can be edited without the gauge source files.

Thats what I noticed too...

Wilcos panel works really good with the PA380, but the high A-Floor on final is really annoying.

I tried to reduce the weight in the .cfg, it lowered the stall speed, but the aircraft had at 150 knts the nose still up.

Update: I gave up using the 346 panel but I used the 343 panel instead, it seems that the landing speed has nth wrong yet and no problems is found so far.

Hi mate.. Does it contain FMC? Never touched Overland stuff. What bonuses does it contain. SideViews/Overhead/Pedisatal etc. Im Curious.
The reason iwent the Wilco Vol2 was that it has FMC and all the panels.. Missing the Side 2d views though :(

I use the CLS A346 panel and it works perfectly. All gauges work accurately 95% of the time. It contains fairly accurate overhead, throttle quadrant, main panel etc and has a "lite" FMC which is fairly good. I recommend it.

Just looked at some Youtube on the Overland VC.. IT LOOKS great... Havent seen too much of the 2D Though... Wonder if it would be to hard to incorporate the Overland VC into PA's A380... Hmmmm.
If it dosent take to much to do i might buy the Overland For the VC/2D.

I think the VC is incorporated into the exterior model, meaning that you would be changing the model as well as the VC to Overland.

I have the CLS A340-500/600 which uses the same panels as the SMS/Overland models do. I am using this with the A380 and it works almost perfectly. I have done a fair few flights now and I havent experienced any issues with it.
