I seem to have a problem with the external lights on the Project Airbus A318. I do not have the red and green wingtip navigation lights. In fact, the only external lights that I can see are the red strobe lights top and bottom. I have added the correct [LIGHTS] section for the Project Airbus A318, and installed the required FX files in the EFFECTS folder. However, I believe that they should still work even if I was using the default FX files.
Can anyone help?
I am using the FSX Global Jet Elite (LX-GJC) model, FSX SP2 Acceleration, and Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

Re: Project Airbus A318 FSX external lights
I have sorted this out. Maybe someone could enlighten me as to why the LIGHTS section of the FSX aircraft.cfg file does not enable the red and green wingtip navigation lights? In addition, the strobes are way too close together for the beacon lights. Well, they are compared to the ones that I have seen elsewhere (and on real world aircraft).

Do you have a download link to this file?

The Global Jet Elite version of the Project Airbus A318 for FSX can be downloaded from the main www.pairbus.com website.
Re: Project Airbus A318 FSX external lights
Hmmm... It seems to be an issue with the A318 FSX model since this issue also shoes up on the Demonstrator, and the Frontier Airlines downloads. People must not like to fly the A318 at night time!
Funny thing is that it the lights on the 2004 .mdl's show, but the FSX .mdl's lights do not show. Something tells me that the lights themselves are hard-coded into the airplane's model rather than relying upon an effect file. The only way I know to solve this issue is to do what you did - by adding in the lights yourself in the aircraft.cfg.
Perhaps you would like to share the lines of code you created for the nav lights to help out other users?

Re: Project Airbus A318 FSX external lights
It's those "320pa" effects files that seem to be the problem. The beacon lights flash far too quickly for a start. The following LIGHTS statements work on my PA A318, but only one of the two landing lights underneath the fuselage seems to work (the left one).....
[LIGHTS]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
light.0=3, -14.00, -54.9, 2.45, fx_navred ,
light.1=3, -14.00, 54.9, 2.45, fx_navgre ,
light.2=3, -57.70, 0.00, 4.70, fx_navwhih ,
light.3=2, -57.75, 0.00, 4.70, fx_strobeh ,
light.4=2, -14.22, -54.91, 2.45, fx_strobeh ,
light.5=2, -14.22, 54.91, 2.45, fx_strobeh ,
light.6=1, 6.8, 0.00, -5.80, fx_beaconh ,
light.7=1, 3.83, 0.00, 8.47, fx_beaconh ,
light.8=4, 36.11, 0.00, 4.00, fx_vclight ,
light.9=5, 12.570000, -10.48, -5.81, fx_PAland ,
light.10=5, 12.570000, 10.48, -5.81, fx_PAland ,
Just out of curiosity...is the white tail light supposed to strobe? If not, then it can easily be removed (light.3)
Oh, and the red and green wingtip navigation lights seem to have a kind of "double strobe" effect. Is that normal?
It's worth noting that I am not an expert at this, but I eventually got them working, and I'm sticking with it!
